All is not perfect at Stratton Mountain
The weather changes every day. Stratton gets a lot of snow. We think they get more than any of the other Southern Vermont mountains.
Stratton Mountain also gets a lot of wind. We have stepped off the Gondola sometimes just to be blown all the way over to the "bears". (Well not actually, we put out our hands and made our bodies into giant crosses to get the wind behind us and skated a little, but you get the idea.)
So when we look at other websites, all we see is beautiful pictures of sun and people skiing through powder or magnificantly groomed snow. We thought we would like to show you "the other side of the story".
When scrolling through the pictures taken in January through March 2008 below, you will understand why we say bring warm, layered and waterproof clothings. A ski vacation at Stratton is a lot of fun. But be prepared for changing weather, not only every day, but sometimes every hour.
